چکیده

In this paper, we investigate the performance of a recently proposed multiple-access system, namely, partitionspreading CDMA (PS-CDMA). We show via variance evolution that the asymptotic channel throughput of PS-CDMA improves monotonically as the number of partitions increases. The fundamental limit of the PS-CDMA system is calculated by evaluating the spectral efficiency of the layered channel that is generated by multistage PS-CDMA demodulation. Capacity-approaching codes of high rate is suggested in the encoding for each PSCDMA user, which justifies a low-complexity two-stage decoding scheme that has been recently proposed.

Throughput Improvement of STS-Based MC DS-CDMA System with Variable Spreading Factor

The throughput enhancement of Space-Time Spreading (STS)-based Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) system is investigated in this paper. Variable Spreading Factor (VSF) is utilized to improve the data throughput of the system. In this contribution, an analytical approach is proposed to compute a new expression for the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of t...

Optimizing the Performance of Uncoordinated Wireless Packet Transmission: RP-CDMA with Partitioned Spreading

A fully asynchronous random wireless channel access protocol and transmission system based on CDMA with random spreading, termed Random Packet CDMA [1, 2], is presented. We show that RP-CDMA has the potential to achieve the capacity of the wireless channel. Furthermore, a novel non-linear receiver termed Partitioned-Spreading (PS) is introduced, which allows for significantly higher system load...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

On Joint Decoding and Random CDMA Demodulation

We consider a CDMA system on an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel with K concurrent users. Each user transmits equal-rate data and employs an LDPC error control code (ECC). Each user’s bits are modulated with a random spreading waveform. These spreading waveforms are furthermore partitioned in M sections which are in turn interleaved and spread in time. This creates a rate 1/M repeti...

Coded Random CDMA with Partitioned Spreading

A Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) system is considered, where a number of concurrent users, distinguished by random spreading waveforms, access the common additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. All users employ a regular low-density parity-check (LDPC) error control code (ECC). Additionally, a method, called Partitioned Spreading (PS) is used. Each user’s spreading waveform is divid...

Iterative Multiuser Detection of Random CDMA Using Partitioned Spreading

Iterative joint detection of random CDMA is considered in conjunction with error control coding, in particular using low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. The spreading sequences are partitioned into sections, called “partitioned spreading (PS)”, creating an artificial repetition code which interfaces the LDPC code with the multiple access channel. A suboptimal, but efficient cancelation proce...
